What Are Open Frame Solenoids?
Open-frame solenoids, also known as D-frame solenoids, are simplistic in design and have the smallest dimensions within our solenoid product range. Starting at 8 x 10 x 15mm, these dimensions make them compact and suitable for applications where space is limited.
Available in DC voltage as a push or pull solenoid, they are cost-effective solutions for high-volume manufacturing where actuation rather than precision is required. Plunger end types, terminations, return springs and mounting holes can all be customised subject to a minimum order quantity.
When selecting an open frame solenoid, as with any other solenoid style, it is essential to consider the effects of heat, since an increase in coil temperature reduces the work output and the life of the unit. Standard life is 50,000 to 100,000 or more cycles.
