Success at the Made in Yorkshire Awards 2017
We recently celebrated success at the Made in Yorkshire Awards 2017 – certainly an evening to be proud of for our team. NSF Controls was shortlisted for the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Award and was praised by the judges for its work creating a shut-off valve on gas smart meters.
The improved solenoid-operated gas valve delivered a compact, cost-effective solution for a leading UK smart meter supplier, with an 80% reduction in weight and no impact on performance.
Hosted at the Royal Armouries in Leeds, the prestigious event celebrates world-class companies based in Yorkshire and the Humber and the products they are making and selling across the world.
As a Yorkshire-based business itself, NSF Controls is committed to backing business throughout the region and to support the occasion also sponsored the Manufacturer of the Year (Under £25m) category with NSF Controls’ chief executive Doug Priestley presenting the award to the category winner Leeds-based Winder Power - a leading UK manufacturer of power and distribution transformers and generator equipment.
Commenting on the event chief executive Doug Priestley said:
“We’re proud to have been recognised at the awards. We’re committed to taking an advanced approach to product development, engineering and technology and our application engineers worked hard to produce a better gas valve all-round. To date, we have produced over 4.5 million of these assemblies with no field failures and have nurtured a productive working partnership with our client with further development work in progress.”
